I Will Remember …

I am awake, I am alive, and this morning along with so many others, I will remember …

But I won’t remember battles fought, for whom or against what. Instead, I will remember the men and women who went, who left behind country and family to serve.

The soldiers I know or were lucky enough to know, did not serve for glory or respect. They served to feed families. They served to protect families. They served to keep others safe. They served to keep us safe.

And on this day, in this strange year, I do not believe they would want us to put ourselves at risk by gathering, not after they risked it all to keep us safe. Luckily, it doesn’t take a crowd to remember. It doesn’t take a public gathering to stop for a moment at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month ….

And I will. I will stop and remember Dad and Uncle Randy, Sue and Scott and family. I will remember the Highway of Heroes that brought so many home to families now grieving. I will remember so many and I will give thanks for you all.

Today my friends, let us not forget.

I love you! HUGSSSSSSSSSS
Sandi
