If a woman uses the term “survival”, it is because there was a time in her life when she wasn’t sure she would.

If a woman tells you that “you make her feel safe” it is because someone else didn’t.

If a woman speaks of “freedom” or of “having a voice” it is because she has known what it is like to attempt to live without such things.

And if you (as a woman) have never said any of those things, I pray you realize how absolutely blessed your life has been because many of your sisters have not enjoyed such a fate. Perhaps it is time to imagine what they have endured, to walk a mile in their moccasins before you speak.
