Day 60 – The Thunder Rolls

I am awake, I am alive, and this morning, as Thunderbeings announce their presence with continual dialogue, as the clouds weep, I cannot help but think … will anyone notice (outside of ruined plans)?

Because Mother Earth has spoken many times – when chasms open up in unexpected places, testaments to what we have done deep inside her core, we complain and move on. When oceans rise against us, when winds remove what we thought solid, when the air is so poisoned as to be visible, we complain and continue on, as if she has said nothing.

And that worries me, for I cannot help but wonder if the Indigenous will continue to be dismissed just as easily. Tomorrow, when more women disappear, when more men die, when more children are finally found will the others not touched through blood even … care?

I pray they do, for if our voices fall on deaf ears yet again, we will have little choice. We will be forced to get as loud and as constant as this morning’s thunder.

The journey continues …

I love you!
