Day 13 – Conditional Values

I am awake, I am alive and this morning I want to speak to something I believe far too many have, that being “conditional values”.

Yes, we will hire more indigenous people … if they apply through our normal channels and qualify and fit in. In other words, as long as we don’t have to change the environment that excluded or made them uncomfortable in the first place.

Or sure, this construction project is 100% environmentally friendly … unless it will cause delays or cost us more money.

And sure, we have a transparent and supportive working environment… unless you want to complain about something or you publicly say something criticizing us because that we don’t want people to see.

Principles, however, aren’t conditional. They are timeless, consistent and never wavering. I live by my principles and as a result, my values are never conditional even is it means tough conversations and turning down speaking engagements. After all, diversity, anti-racism work, equality – those can’t be conditional. Not now, not ever.

I pray, my friend, that your values and principles are equally timeless for great foundations are needed to build amazing lives.

I love you! HUGSSSSSSSSSS
