I am awake, I am alive and today I am doing what has to be done like so many others.

Up at 5 a.m. because this woman has not one but TWO events next week (one virtual, one live) and I cannot wait! But events require I show up with ALL I have to offer, that I show up rested and wise, compassionate and caring, armed with metaphor and story to enlighten and explain. And I wouldn’t want it any other way, so today I prepare.

But a busy day of meetings meant I could not prepare during normal working hours. I had to hit the ground running earlier than usual so I went to bed earlier than usual. I prepared to be successful.

Just like the parent who rises long before they are rested, so they can nurture their child or the man or woman who rises, long before they are rested, to go do that next shift.

Just like the office worker, working late to make the deadline or the baker up far before anyone else to prepare for the morning coffee rush.

The successful do what needs to be done and the wisest among the successful do it without sacrificing themselves in the process. I have acquired wisdom. I am rested and ready to be … successful and I pray my friend you can say same.
