It came to me in the midst of a workout. There I was, pushing weights, and suddenly it hit me, the new vision statement that encapsulates the intent behind all the work I do…

“Give them everything they need to go on without you.”

Truth be told, the vision may be new to my business but it is not new to me at all, for I heard my own Mother say it a million times. It was her vision, you see, her vision for her role as our mother.

“My job is to give you everything you need to know so you can go on without me.”

I smile as I realize I have been living that vision for years now, leaving my participants with the skills, the knowledge, and/or the understanding they need to do the work after I have left the conference hall, their community, or their computer screen.

What they do with that information is up to them because the work is not up to me. The work is up to whomever I am speaking to – that community or that individual, that municipality or that organization, each with their own unique part.

Yes, the work is up to all of us and if I can help, I must.

So, this is me, focused once again on giving you everything you need to go on without me because, as has been proven time and time again, the real magic happens after I leave the room.
